Pop top roof bed system - what are the options?

Single-Fold Bed

The most popular option is a single-fold bed where you have a single hinge at the rear of the bed connected to the van frame.  The bed is on gas rams and a simple push up by you at the front of the bed will lift the bed up on it's own.

The advantage of this bed is that it is easy to use an operate - just one push at the front and it's up in the air and out the way.  It can also have additional panels (free floating) to extend the bed.

Our single-fold bed on gas rams is £275.

Bi-Fold Bed

This is becoming a popular option.  A bi-fold bed has two hinges that work in opposing ways. The first hinge lifts the bed high at the rear of the pop top roof giving 12" (or so) of additional head height right at the back of the van.  The second hinge then follows the full height of the pop top roof.  This gives the maximum height available for the largest area of the van.

The main advantage of the bi-fold bed is purely down to head height in the van - you just get a lot more of it!

It's slightly different to operate than a single fold bed in that instead of lifting at the front you get it started with a little push towards the middle/rear and then the gas rams take over and lift it for you.

You can also have free floating panels to add additional length if required or use these to hide the remaining space between the front of the van and the bed system.

Our bi-fold bed, on gas rams and fixed length rods is £375.

ABOUT US

What else is available?  Sliding Front Panels!

We can manufacture a sliding bed panel for the front of the bed which closes the gap between the front of the bed and the front of the van cut out.  It's mounted on rails and it really finishes off the van.  Note this section is not structural - it's purely cosmetic.  However, it is a great finishing touch.
